Two choices. As a student cohort, we we're given two choices. Path one, we could build our
capstone within Unity. Path two, Unreal Engine. Nearing the end of term 4 at Toronto Film School,
the developers had never touched Unreal Engine. If we chose to go with path two, it would mean
figuring everything out as we were building what would be the most important project in our
time at TFS. There was a lot of risk with that,
Working with Unreal Engine is vastly different than Unity. While both have a lot of similarities,
there differences could hardly be bigger. However, with all of us getting organized into our different
teams and roles, the first couple months of this project was reseach and testing. I was very keen on
trying to build our projects UI. I had done so in a different project, but not to this scale. Or in this Engine.
Once the initial preparation phase was over, I immediately began building and prototyping out how
these system will function, what support structures need to be in place to make future development go smoother.
